Fausto Colavecchia spans different genres and culture, combining environmental projects, performance art and photography, blending digital and video reworkings, creating object-based works an animations to constantly surprise spectators with his ambiguous visual discourse, the deliberate suspension of rationality which creates a violent short-circuit between image and vision. The artist thus succeeds in being enigmatic and caustic, ever changing and persuasive even when his installations seem (falsely) soothing, when he calls into question our habits as users of Google or Wrongfoots our everyday certainties our household comforts distorted and changed by the structural chaos of his scathing democratic DIY.
