#PEAM 2005 CALL FOR ARTWORKS

Call for artworks for the third edition of Peam, Pescara Electronic Artists Meeting, organised by the network artificialia, in collaboration with the cultural association Gramigna and the Art Café Ecoteca. The Peam2005, a chance to see and compare - with no competitions and prizes – for musician, and visual artists, performers of dance, theatre, sculpture and everything which spins around electronics or makes use of it as a mean of expression and communication, proposes from the 22nd to the 30th of October 2005 installations, concerts, projections, exibitions, concerts workshops and more, alternanting shows between Pescara (Ecoteca, Cinema Massimo, Ca.Ri.Pe) to Sant’Angelo City (Museo Laboratorio). The meeting leit motiv, divided in different sections (electronic music, video art, software art and hacktivism, net art, net painting, "post-humans" project, "la linea sottile" project, and "peam educational" project) is synthesized in the formula “The new human being positionin'”. In particular, will be focused on the new interaction of electronics and human in art and culture showing and highlighting the privileges and aberrations of the electronic age. There will be the national and international guests.

Concepts, Categories and Media
Main subject of the meeting is:

the new human being positionin’

We will take in to consideration all art pieces that realise new way of human-machine interaction (Autonomous Electronic-Based Artifacts, Electronics that "replace" the artist; Interactive Electronic Based Artifacts, Electronics as Artist's co-author; Electronics as Art and Art as Electronics).

For The new human being positionin’ we mean the ripositioning of human being, hybridated by the modern electronic cultures, in to geographical spaces, in existential timing and in its cognitive faculties.

Projects and sections - Categories of works
Each category has its own curator who controls work submission and does preliminary assessment. For some of the sections the coherence with the project will also be required. Therefore, we kindly ask you to check the curators guidelines in this websites. The selection will be done in order to guarantee both quality and (more than that) coherence, within the overall event.

Deadline and Rules
Art works can be submitted both via mail or e-mail and must reach the organisers by the 30th of September 2005 together with entry form .

Presence
The Peam2005 will also exhibit some works of artists which won't physically reach the meeting (music, installations, website, animations, software, etc.), as far as organisers receive accurate information and detailed technical requirements.

Limits
We do not encourage art that is made by the mean of electronic and later transferred to analogue -linear media e.g. traditional animations, prints of digitally manipulated photographs. These art forms has several, already established forums, and we will therefore focus our energy on electronic based art.

Prizes
The Peam2005 has no prizes because is not a competition and, on the opposite, is organised with the purpose of eliciting the meeting and the cooperation amongst electronic artists.
