Ecoteca?

Ecoteca, first of all, is a goal, a philosophy, a certain aesthetic, a feeling and ... a way of life! It is a new way of thinking relax, entertainment, art,culture and information. Ecoteca, it is worth to spend a word on this, is independent from any politics and, therefore, "political" in the best way. Thaaanks... to all the people that, step-by-step, have helped and help us to make it a beautiful and lively place!!!

Ecoteca is an ecological media library, both physical (located in Pescara, via Caboto, 19) and virtual (www.ecoteca.org), specialized in art and culture.

The physical locus ia a Cafè where we serve, quasi-exclusively, organic-certified goods, like beer, vine, coffe, the, infuses, fruit juices, vegetables, cheese, meet, salami, bread, etc.

This service has a two goals: the first, to propose natural goods, trough degustation and so in real manner, and, the second, to inform customers about the location and names of the related factories, places and producers.

Indeed, within the same Cafè, we have a medialibrary, in constant growth, that collects documents about typical local traditions, both cultural (artists, photos, movies, videos, books, history, etc.) and environmental (naturalistic routes, local fauna and flora, archeology, etc.) and gastronomic (factories, recipes, sagre, etc.).

Part of the above mentioned multimedia documents (like websites, videos, CD-ROM, DVD, prints, etc.) are produced, o curated, by ourselves. This multimedia production can either be a no-profit activity or a service for other enterprises, accordingly to the single cases.

Ecoteca, active since 2002, is the first Internet Bio-Cafè ever, the first italian Internet Cafè with a Linux fully based technology and the first italian Internet Point with free access to the internet!

Ecoteca is a Wireless Hot Spot!

Within the Cafè there are different free access internet point and a multimedia showroom, that supplies an high definition projector (that we use for workshops, too), plus a resident library that our customers can freely access to (see "media-library" for further details).

Finally, the Cafè is enriched by an intense calendar of courses, exhibitions, shows and many different activities with cultural and educational finalities, that are mainly oriented to the promotion of an ecological culture and way of life.
